The ETcH smart contract deployed on the Ethereum network at the following address is open-source : 0x4baa385a87e31ded5080582525a2ec33cdb3cf51

Evidence perennity and independence from the service

The ETcH service generates, for each timestamping operation, a proof kit consisting of the original document (kept by the user), its SHA-256 cryptographic fingerprint, the reference of the Ethereum transaction in which this fingerprint is recorded, and a standalone verification guide.

This kit is designed to be verifiable independently of the ETcH service. Verification can be performed at any time, without access to our platform, by any person in possession of the original document, equipped with standard cryptographic tools (notably OpenSSL or any SHA-256 calculator), and with access to any public Ethereum blockchain explorer.

Accordingly, the possible cessation of ETcH's activity, for any reason whatsoever, does not affect the technical validity, verifiability, or legal admissibility of proofs previously generated by the service. The inscription in the Ethereum blockchain, by its very nature as a public distributed ledger, persists independently of our existence as a commercial entity.

ETcH undertakes to provide, on its website and in the documentation accompanying each proof kit, the technical elements necessary for the autonomous verification of any proof generated by the service, and to maintain these resources accessible for as long as the service is operated.
